The collaboration with the exhibitions of Varenna, Erba and Abbadia comes alive: concerts also at Zelbio and at the cycling museum. Ferragosto on the Resinelli plains
Bellagio, 27 July 2018 – On the mountains, overlooking the valleys, or in the cool of the woods. The festival of Bellagio and Lake Como rises in the mountains, over and over a thousand meters altitude and brings the music of its two great orchestras, but also the thrill of theater and cinema at the foot of the Prealps and the Como ridge. Until mid-August, as in a sort of “Grigne sounds”, here is a series of festival concerts designed by the artistic director to touch some of the most evocative and “taller” villages of Lario, “stresses – explains Rossella Spinosa, director artistic expression of the event – the strong relationship with the territory and the deep commitment of the festival in the enhancement of places and cultural circuits outside the most obvious tourist routes “.

The events, as always completely free, are included in the calendar of some parallel exhibitions that make up the longa manus of the Festival, which from its headquarters in Bellagio reaches over 20 countries and all the banks of the Lario, for a good season of concerts which continues until September. So the reviews of “Varenna, music and theater”, “Summer Erbese”, “Rezzago, the village of Valassina” and “Music dall’Adda al Lario” constitute the capillary rib that brings the music of Bellagio up to Rezzago, Pian dei Resinelli, but also Zelbio, Perledo, Magreglio and Erba.

SATURDAY JULY 28, PERLEDO h 21
Above Varenna, in the churchyard of the church of San Martino di Perledo, the Bellagio Festival Orchestra, in synergy with the Vittadini orchestra of Pavia, performs the Four Seasons of Antonio Vivaldi: the violin and the conductor Luca Torciani.
SUNDAY 29 JULY, ZELBIO h18
At the foot of the Tivano, in collaboration, as for years now, with the cultural review “Zelbio cult” organized by Armando Besio, the Milanese orchestra of musical Afternoons, under the direction of Mario Roncuzzi, performs in the church of the Conversione di san Paolo, music by Peter Ilic Tchaikovsky, with the Serenade for Archi op.48, the Holberg Suite by Edvard Grieg and the suite n.3 by Ottorino Respighi.
SUNDAY 29 JULY, MAYreria h 21
After Zelbio, double event for the Festival: from Tivano and from the Sormano basin, go down and climb along the legendary Ghisallo, to make a stop in a legendary place. The cycling museum, right on top of this historic climb, next to the little church with the ex voto left by climbers on two wheels, hosts an impressive concert, framed by one of the most iconic views of the two Grigne mountains. The Bellagio Festival Orchestra performs an excursus in folklore, from klezmer to Argentine tango.
WEDNESDAY 1st AUGUST, VARENNA h21
In the green of the locality Pino, still in collaboration with the review “Varenna, music and theater”, stage of experimental theater with the show Farsi Silence of and with Marco Cacciola and Tindaro Granata to cure the dramaturgy: the spectators will sit in the lawn and wear headphones to better “dialogue” and connect with the actor on stage, isolating himself from the surrounding environment and thus enjoying the silence even with his eyes because, as the piece says: “God or Nature, depending on what you believe , they gave us a mouth and two ears: evidently because we listened to the double and we spoke half “.
FRIDAY 3 AUGUST, TORNO h 21
We return, for one evening, on the shore of the lake, in the church of San Giovanni di Torno to celebrate one of the great anniversaries that are the leitmotif of this eighth edition of the festival. A tribute to Gioachino Rossini will take place in Torno, in the 150th anniversary of the death of the composer from Pesaro. The orchestra de I Pomeriggi musicali, directed by Alessandro Calcagnile, will perform the overtures of Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Signor Bruschino, La Scala di Seta, L’Inganno Felice and L’Italiana in Algeri as well as the Symphony in D major Bologna and Al Conventello.
SUNDAY 5 AUGUST, ERBA h 21
At Villa Amalia and in his park the Academy of Research proposes, in collaboration with the events of the “Erbese Summer”, music by Francesco Geminian, Arcangelo Corelli including the Triosonata in F major and the Sonata in D minor and the Ciacona op .2 / 1 and Giovan Battista Sammartini, including the Sonata in E minor.
SUNDAY 12 AUGUST, REZZAGO h21
In the embrace of the colma of Sormano and Tivano, Rezzago, poetic village of Valassina, hosts, in the church of Santa Maria nascente, a concert for music and baroque voices with harpsichord, soprano and strings by the Bellagio Festival Orchestra, for the direction by Alessandro Calcagnile and with the voice of Ilaria Torciani.
WEDNESDAY August 15th, PIAN DEI RESINELLI h 21
Ferragosto at the foot of the Grignetta with an entire orchestra, the “Estudiantina vogherese” which, after 101 years of activity, comes from the Oltrepò, to bring the rhythm of the mandolins and the guitar of Federico Lisandria to the feet of the most famous Prealps of Lombardy. ranging from the classical repertoire, to the lyric one, to the ethnic one. Alongside instrumental pieces of great impact such as the Intermezzo of Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni or the Prelude at the first of La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, here are the most famous arias from Don Giovanni by Wolfang Amadeus Mozart and Gianni Schicchi.
