The initiative is by Grandi Giardini Italiani which proposes a novelty in the calendar of events: a series of extraordinary openings in the park of Villa Erba, in Cernobbio.
OPENINGS VILLA ERBA, CERNOBBIO
The Park of the Villa will remain open and open from 10.00 to 18.00 from Tuesday 23 to Wednesday 24 July.
From 27 March 2019 then the garden of Villa Erba will be open to visitors with themed walks and guided tours along the avenues in the shade of centuries-old trees and among the flowering and perfumed bushes at the water’s edge.
A fascinating botanical walk among trees and collections of flowering shrubs and elegant multicolored flower beds that enhance the splendid view of the lake.
To admire the centuries-old trees: plane trees, beeches, the Himalayan Cedar, the Cypress of the marshes (or Tassodio) and the Ginkgo biloba.

The cost of the ticket is 6.50 euros, with the possibility of guided tours for groups, after sending an email to info@grandigiardini.it

VILLA ERBA: HISTORICAL NOTES
The historic Villa Erba was once a monastery, then it was bought by the Peluso family.
Later he became property of Luigi Erba, piano teacher at the Milan Conservatory, brother and heir of Carlo Erba, one of the leading industrialists in the pharmaceutical industry of the time.
Villa Erba hosts great artists and the residence was the protagonist of an intense cultural and world life.
Later the Villa was inherited by his daughter Carla Erba, mother of the great director Luchino Visconti.
Since the end of the last century, the residence is home to a public-private exhibition and exhibition center.
For seven years, it has hosted – just as a location – the headquarters of the Grandi Giardini Italiani network.
A unique location, between the green of nature and the blue of Lake Como, for a spectacular effect of great impact.
