Valle di Intelvi

Choose a house in a lesser-known location to have more.

Less famous than the hotspot locations on Lake Como, the Valle Intelvi is becoming a popular destination for those are looking for buying a holiday property or want to live surrounded by nature without spending large amounts.

The search for silence, tranquility, larger living spaces can certainly find its end in Valle Intelvi.

The Intelvi Valley connects Lake Como and Lake Lugano; a green valley, which still offers the colors of the seasons, a handful of towns where the largest center is San Fedele Intelvi which offers many services and shops, the highest town is Lanzo di Intelvi at almost 1000 meters above sea level.

The ancient villages still retain the flavor of their history intact, with small streets, wash houses, small paved squares and small churches, which border large agro-pastoral areas where silence reigns supreme.

Many put-off by the crowds and very high prices of the Lake Como locations, look to a more authentic lifestyle in this valley.

The Val d’Intelvi connects Lake Como with Lake Lugano. Coming up from Argegno the first municipality of the Valle d’Intelvi is Dizzasco, the most popular location for its proximity to the lake, the highest is Lanzo d’Intelvi with its Balcony of Italy from which on clear days the view is spectacular. Castiglione and San Fedele which represent the most urbanized centers are offering many services and shops.

Until 1920 the Intelvi Valley was a fashionable location, where the Milanese upper class owned beautiful Art Nouveau villas which still stand today within large gardens, especially in Lanzo Intelvi.

After a long period of decline, today the Intelvi Valley has once again aroused interest from both Italian and foreign buyers given that the quality/price ratio can still be found.
